Expect an hour of full-on Hip-Hop entertainment, enhanced with electronic elements, live instrumentation and added vocal support from singer Tash Williams. And a big shout-out and thanks going to Ben Sage for all the photography for this release.

Feeding you 5 tracks of razor-sharp lyrical delivery over a blend of classic & contemporary hiphop flavours, this EP is the result of 18 months hard graft by Guest House in collaboration with Seizure, Analogue, Tash Williams & Pro P.

Recorded, mixed & mastered here at Burning Studios, “Burning Down the Guest House” represents a tight crew of hiphop addicts who can’t seem to satisfy their cravings.

Bloom Installation @ Temple Works

Temple Works in Leeds is being redeveloped as a major UK cultural venue. A huge Grade 1 listed Victorian flax mill with outstanding natural light, it contains what was once the biggest room in the world!

As part of Light Night Leeds 2009, and in collaboration with the Jam Jar Collective and Culture Vulture, Burning Studios has created an installation for the space. We composed the sonic content which accompanied Stuart Childs’, Dave Lynch & Scott Towler’s light, laser and projection extravaganza and was preformed twice a night from 9th til 16th October.

Thanks to Jim Moran for this awesome photo!

Using generative abstract synthesis and sampling, we made a 15min sound piece intended to shock and disturb the audience in this vast and eerie space.

[audio:|titles=Clip: Bloom Installation Act 3|artists=J.Jelliman]

Delivered via a custom spatial sound system, the preformances were so well received that extra shows had to be run to satisfy demand. Over 600 people have enjoyed the show – if you are one of them get in touch and tell us what you thought!

Recording Madame Laycock & Her Dabeno Pleasures

As you may know Burning Studios is currently producing the debut album for Madame Laycock & Her Dabeno Pleasures. Recording is progressing well and we have only backing vocals, some accordion and helicon (a large, bass brass instrument) left to track. Then we can have some fun adding animal noises and other sound effects before the mixing begins.
